The personal training program within Emory Fitness is designed to give individuals the attention they need to achieve personal health and fitness goals. Our priority is to provide you with the motivation and tools to succeed regardless of age, experience, or fitness level.

Summer personal training registration is now open. Registration can be found under Ready to Get Started. Please note, spots fill quickly.

Personal Training can define your fitness goals, teach you new exercises, increase muscular strength, endurance and/or flexibility, provide functional training opportunities, motivate you to achieve your goals, and equip you with tools to support your healthy lifestyle.

Emory Fitness Certified Personal Trainers will:

  • Motivate you to go beyond just going through the motions
  • Help you develop the motivation to exercise regularly
  • Work with you on every exercise for maximum efficiency and effectiveness

Ali

“We get one body, and it’s a privilege to take care of it!” 

Ali is a member of Emory’s professional staff and a 2024 graduate of Emory University. Coming from Derby, Vermont, Ali has been a personal trainer for 3 years and is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM, specializing in strength training and functional movement. Ali enjoys running, lifting, ultimate frisbee, and reading.

Allison 

“I believe everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their body and build strength in a way that feels supportive and sustainable. My goal is to help people unlock their potential and develop a lifelong, positive relationship with movement.” 

Allison is a 3rd Year Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology Major from San Jose, California. She recently earned her personal trainer certification through NASM. Although this is her first year training, she has a strong background in coaching. Due to her time as a competitive swimmer, much of her training specializes in applicable areas--strength training, sports-related mobility, and swim and run related injury prevention. Allison’s hobbies are swimming, running, triathlons, pickleball, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

Andrea 

“I want to help clients reach their goals in a holistic and non-judgmental way. There are many different and fun ways to reach your goals, and I want to help you become and feel like your best self!” 

Andrea is a 1st Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student from Everett, Washington. A first-year trainer, she is also a student physical therapist and has a knowledgeable background stemming from her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Andrea loves yoga, running, weightlifting, traveling, concerts, and film photography. Similar to her physical activity interests, Andrea specializes in strength and functional training with injury prevention in mind.

 Brooke 

“Strength training not only enhances functional activity, but it also plays a critical role in injury prevention. I recognize that each individual has a different background and training preference and I want to create a personalized program tailored to each person's needs.” 

From Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Brooke is a 3rd Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student and former student-athlete who loves running, hiking, lifting, and a good sunset. She has two years of experience as a personal trainer focusing on developing strength that translates to functional tasks, emphasizing progressive loading and neuromuscular control.

Emma 

“Movement is the first step or continuing step to building your life! I love helping people achieve their goals in order to feel good and experience life with confidence!” 

Emma is a 1st Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student. Although she grew up as a military child, she calls Huntsville, Alabama home. Certified through ACE, Emma obtained her personal training certification in 2024 and is excited to use it at Emory in her first year as a personal trainer. Emma enjoys running, biking, swimming, hiking, and golfing. She’s open to any form of physical activity with rowing being a particular interest as she was on the women’s rowing team at the University of Alabama.

 Hannah 

“As a personal trainer, my overall goal is to help individuals discover the same love and passion for exercise that drives me every day.” 

From Lexington, MA, Hannah is a 2nd Year Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology major. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with over a year of experience working in our program. When Hannah is able to take a break, she enjoys running, lifting, cooking, and going to the beach. She specializes in strength training but incorporates mobility and stretching as well.

Jiho 

“You don't have to be perfect. You just need to start and keep showing up to see results.” 

Jiho is a 3rd Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student from New York City, New York. Jiho is the head trainer of Emory’s personal training program, lauding three years of training experience prioritizing functional movements and a holistic approach based on clients’ goals. Jiho enjoys ultramarathons and powerlifting.

Juan 

“The name of the game is longevity so build a body that supports you over time.” 

From Amherst, Massachusetts, Juan is a 3rd Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist who enjoys exercising, football, and watching movies. Working as a trainer for two years, he specializes in strength training, mobility work, return to sport, injury prevention, and functional movement.

Kennedy 

“I chose to pursue personal training to bring others the joy that fitness has brought me over the years. If my future clients leave just one session feeling better about themselves and more confident in their abilities to achieve their fitness goals, I've won as a personal trainer.” 

Kennedy is a 1st Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Certified Personal Trainer via NASM. She brings her education and knowledge into her first year working as a personal trainer with a specific focus in strength training. Aptly so, her hobbies are weightlifting and body building.

 Renata 

“I started personal training because I enjoy helping people build strength that directly improves their daily lives and long-term health. Seeing progress in movement quality and confidence, while teaching clients how to train effectively on their own, is what makes this work so rewarding.” 

From Houston, Texas, Renata is a 3rd Year Doctor of Physical Therapy student. She has worked as a personal trainer for two years and specializes in functional movement and injury prevention. Here hobbies include strength training, yoga, and swimming.

Once completed, you will receive a welcome email within 72 hours. The welcome email will detail the next steps in the process including the time frame for matching with a trainer.

FYI: Emory Personal Training offers free consultations/assessments for all initial sessions. To continue training after that, clients must purchase sessions.
