George W. Woodruff Physical Education Center
The George W. Woodruff Physical Education Center (WPEC) opened its doors to the Emory community in August of 1983. The $20 million physical education center was named in honor of Mr. George W. Woodruff, a well-known Atlanta engineer, businessman, corporate leader, philanthropist and trustee of the University, for his significant role in the transfer of the $105 million Emily and Ernest Woodruff Fund to Emory.
The Woodruff Physical Education Center is home to Emory Recreation & Wellness and Intercollegiate Athletics. Emory has hosted numerous special events, including University Athletic Association (UAA) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship athletic events, the Georgia State Special Olympics, the National Transplant Games, the National Veterans' Wheelchair Games, President Clinton's Address, 1996 Olympic Training, President Carter’s annual Town Hall, and much more.
Emory Recreation & Wellness provides opportunities in club sports, credit and non-credit instructional classes, fitness classes, intramural sports, personal training, rock climbing, special events and more.

WPEC Facilities
Madeline Jude Brown Aquatic Center
The Madeline Jude Brown Aquatic Center is located on the 1st floor. The Aquatic Center is 50 meters by 25 yards with a moveable bulkhead, two 1-meter diving platforms and two 3-meter diving platforms. Pool depth ranges from 4.5 feet to 14 feet.
Climbing Wall
The climbing wall is located on the 1st floor adjacent to the basketball arena. The climbing wall includes a variety of challenges including corners and overhangs and a surface to feel like real stone.
Auxiliary Courts
The Auxiliary Courts are located on the 4th floor and features 2 basketball courts and can bet set up for 3 volleyball courts.
Fitness Floor
The Fitness Floor is located on the 4th floor and includes free weights, cardio and strength-training equipment. There is fitness space located on the 1 st floor with various pieces of cardio equipment.
Arena
The Arena is located on the 1st floor and features 4 basketball courts that may also accommodate 5 volleyball courts and 12 badminton courts. Court 4 also is lined for fencing.

Tennis Courts
Candler Fields at Kaminsky Park
Kaminsky Park is located on Peavine Creek Road NE and is accessible by Eagle Row. When the fields are not reserved for varsity, club or intramural sports use, they are available for use by Emory students and WPEC members.
