Member Services

There are a variety of membership options available in order to use the Woodruff P.E. Center (WPEC) and/or the Student Activity and Academic Center. To purchase a membership, please visit the facility you are interested in joining or visit the links below to purchase online. Please note: we do not accept cash, we happily accept all other debit/credit cards (the WPEC doesn't accept American Express) or check.

Any full-time undergraduate or graduate Emory University student who is paying the Student Athletic Fee (the fee is listed in the student fees section of the Emory University Tuition Bill) is provided an annual membership to both the WPEC and SAAC.

Membership Categories and Additional Information

Refunds: Refunds for facility memberships are not provided. No refunds will be granted if employment is terminated, or if member is leaving Emory.

Payroll deduction: Emory University and Emory Healthcare Faculty and Staff may choose the option of payroll deduction as their method of payment. Members who wish to enroll in payroll deduction must visit the facility during business hours to complete the application process. You are required to pay the first two months up front; $18.00 deductions will come out of your monthly wages each month thereafter until you choose to cancel.

Cancelation requests must be made in writing, with 30 days' notice. Emails must include your name, employee ID number, any family members that also need cancelled, and the date you would like the cancellation to take effect. Office staff will not accept cancellation requests over the phone.

Spouses, Same-Sex Domestic Partners, and Dependents: Spouses/Partners and dependents eligible for certain types of memberships (see membership types above). Dependents under 26 years of age living in the same household and financially dependent are also eligible for memberships.

Dependents must be accompanied by the parent or guardian when signing up for membership.

Dependents under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult member at all times while in the facility. An adult is defined as a person who is 18 years of age or older. All dependents over the age of 16 must have a valid EmoryCard for admittance. Children under 16 are not allowed in the weight area under any circumstances and must be accompanied by an adult at all times in other parts of the facility.

Alumni/ae: Graduates of Emory University and Oxford College are eligible for membership. Alumni spouses and dependent children are eligible at the same rate as the affiliated alumna/alumnus.

WPEC Affiliates: Administrators/managers of Bon Appetit, Barnes and Nobel Bookstore, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Glenn Memorial teachers/pastors, Wesley Woods, Crawford Long, Emory Mail and Copy Services (IKON), and construction contract employees are eligible for memberships. Affiliate spouses and dependents are not eligible.

SAAC Affiliates: Staff of the American Cancer Society, Center for Disease Control, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, The Clifton School, Glenn Memorial Methodist Church, Bon Appetit, RICOH Mail Services and Barnes & Noble Bookstore members are also eligible to purchase a Student Activity and Academic Center membership at a discounted rate as Emory affiliates. Affiliates must have written documentation on company letterhead stating their affiliation with one of the organizations listed above.

Community: The Student Activity & Academic Center is proud to be one of the few campus recreation facilities in the country to offer memberships to those in the surrounding Emory community and Metro Atlanta.

Clairmont Campus Resident: Any official guests (faculty in resident, visiting faculty/scholars, etc.) residing on in the Undergraduate Residential Center, Clairmont Residential Center, or The Tower are provided a membership to the Student Activity & Academic Center at no additional charge. The tenant(s) must complete the membership form before membership will be granted

Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta: Ultimate, Preferred and Essential members of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCC) are entitled to a complimentary membership at the Student Activity & Academic Center. First time users must pay a $10 fee for a membership card. 

Membership Options

Each member of the MJCC must fill out a membership application form at the Student Activity & Academic Center. The Student Activity & Academic Center will verify within 72 business hours your membership status at the MJCC.  If you have further questions regarding membership services at the Marcus Jewish Community Center please call 678-812-4060.
